Marija Pericic grew up in Perth, Western Australia, the child of German and Croatian immigrants. She holds a Masters degree in English Literature. She now lives in Melbourne where she teaches English as a foreign language. Her first novel, The Lost Pages (Allen & Unwin), won The Australian/Vogel's Literary Award 2017 and was shortlisted for the 2017 Readings Prize for New Australian Fiction. She was named as a 2018 Sydney Morning Herald Best Young Australian Novelist. Her short fiction, essays, and poetry have appeared in Meanjin, The Big Issue Fiction Edition, and Southerly.
