Alex Palmer was born in England, leaving when she was 5 arriving in Sydney in the late 1960's. She studied English Literature and Language at Macquarie University. She now writes full-time and lives in Canberra. Her debut novel, Blood Redemption, is a police procedural set on the streets of Sydney and it won her the 2003 Ned Kelly Award for Best First Novel.
