Nick Gadd was born in 1964 and grew up in Yorkshire. He migrated to Australia in 1990 and has worked mainly in the adult education and arts sectors. He won the Victorian Premier's Literary Award for an unpublished manuscript in 2007. His essays have been published in Meanjin, Kill Your Darlings, and Griffith Review among others. He lives in the western suburbs of Melbourne.
